Patience

Sunday, we had stake leaders come to our ward for an annual ward conference, which is a time that an individual ward can get direct leadership/council from local leaders.

During the adult-only portion of the meetings, the leaders talked about how we as the "grown-ups" in the world need to be watchmen on the tower http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iv_6aVH88lQ.

The emphasis my leaders made was on "The Proclamation to the World on the Family" and how it helps us be watchmen and have an eternal vision of what those around us can do.

The next point made during the meeting was regarding patience. I think I'd rather skip instruction on patience :-). But, the reality is that patience isn't about me as much as it is about what those around me need me to have to help them succeed, particularly my children and my family. Patience is truly a heavenly virtue. I work with children with disabilities whose very success and functionality in life depend on others having patience. And, as a heavenly virtue, I can't imagine any way of obtaining patience without accessing heavenly power.
